The following policies are in place to give you, the athlete, as much flexibility and notice as possible within a framework that allows us to continue putting on high quality races. All the policies listed below are listed and agreed to by the athlete during the registration process.

REFUNDS & TRANSFERS – Race entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. This policy was agreed to during the registration process and noted in your confirmation email.  
 

DEFERRALS – Any participant who cannot compete in the event for ANY reason has the option to defer their registration into the following years race for a $35 fee. The deferral request must be made by contacting info@steelmanracing.com and must be done prior to the Monday at midnight prior to the race.

SWITCHING EVENTS – You may switch events/distances up to seven days before the day of the race at no cost to the athlete other than the difference in registration fee for that event. There are no refunds for going down in distance/price.  For many athletes, the Aquabike or starting a relay team are good options if you are injured. To switch events, contact info@steelmanracing.com with your request. All requests must be completed seven days before the date of the race!

 

TRANSFERS – We do not allow transfers to any other race or person for any reason!  Penalties for picking up your race packet and allowing someone else to use it are a one year suspension by USAT and the potential for being sued by your friend if they get hurt in the event.

INCLEMENT WEATHER – In the event of inclement the following procedure will be followed: The event will be postponed for 30-45 minutes in hopes the inclement weather will pass. If the inclement weather does not pass within this time frame, the event will be changed to a bike-run.  Every effort will be made to have this event on time on this date.  If conditions are deemed to be unsafe, versus just challenging, we will cancel the event.  All races are different, but know that we plan our events to go on rain or shine. Therefore, if it is just raining, we will race.

 

ATHLETE NOTIFICATION – If there is impending inclement weather (hurricane, thunderstorms, etc), we will make periodic updates via email and our Facebook page.  We do not make these decision lightly and they are made in conjunction with the host community Police and EMS teams.  If we need to cancel the event, we will give as much notice to the athletes as we possibly can.

EVENT CANCELLATION – Should an event be cancelled due to an Act of God or circumstances beyond the control of the event we will give athletes a credit good for 50% of your registration fee for any race produced by our team in the following year. So, if you paid $100 to race, you will receive a coupon good for $50 off any race that we do.

All Steelman Racing triathlon based events are USA Triathlon sanctioned event.
